The week: 19.8.13

25.8.13

On Monday I had a day out at my aunt's house with my stepmum, big sister, Ella and other aunt.  We took Ella swimming and picked apples....a pretty blogger-esque day I think you'd agree!

I really need to start writing these down as I go, because I can't remember much about Tuesday.  Ed's been using my car for work, so the chances are I didn't actually do anything!  On Wednesday I did a spot of shopping with my bestie, tracked down an awesome pair of boyfriend jeans and dropped my laptop off to be fixed.  My stepdad managed to do it, by wiping the whole system and restalling from scratch.  Seriously, why do people bother making these malicious viruses?  Only trouble is, somewhere along the way a couple of the buttons on my keyboard have broken.  I've been assured there's no virus which could have done this, so I'll need to return the laptop to the shop to get it fixed.  Technology is not my thing at the moment!

Thursday we went and had lunch at Dad's for his birthday, then on Friday we had a day trip to Thorpe Park.  There was one summer when we went regularly, and I got used to all the rides and loved it.  Unfortunately we worked out that that was about 5 years ago, and now that I'm older I really do not enjoy being chucked around on rides.  In every photo of me on the rides I looked like I was praying (I was) and the only thing I was thinking on each and every one was 'this isn't fun anymore!!'  And, I wish I was joking here, but the advert for Thorpe Park came on tv that evening and I felt sick all over again.  I won't be going back there for a while!
It was to be expected, but on Saturday I woke up with a massively achey back and shoulder.  We also did a spot lot of tidying because Ed's friends were meant to be coming down for the bank holiday, but there plans changed.  It's not all bad though, at least now we have a tidy house!

I think today we're off out for either lunch or dinner, and I'll be spending the day nagging Ed to tidy my desk area up so I can get back on track with my YouTube.  I'm thinking of filming a massive haul if you're interested?  Anyway, Ed's been busy building a paludarium (as you do) so it's looking a bit grubby in the library!

What are your bank holiday plans?

  2. Ahh now I love theme parks and roller coasters!! In fairness though, I haven't been in a while so maybe I'd end up aching too. Sounds like a lovely relaxed week though, and yes for tidy houses- I really need to do my room, but have I got around to it?! No.... xx

    1. I was never a massive fan, but I'd certainly conquered my fear and was able to do them. Sadly looks like motion sickness has got the better of me in my old age :(

My house gets in a mess so easily, I really need to make more of an effort to stay on top of it! x

  3. Oh i so know what you mean! The same seems to have happened to me at theme parks! I was never that much of a thrill seeker but i now see those summer fairgrounds with the craaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazy rides (like that ball thing that throws you up into the sky and is held together with elastic string?!) and i get physically ill. Well done for actually getting on a few of the rides, i would have been bag/coat holder! xx
