9 Little Things: Nights Out

2.9.13

A very old photo of me....this was easily taken at least 5 years ago!
  1. During that getting ready stage I once fell headfirst off the end of my bed.  I landed with one hand on the ground, another holding my drink high in the air still.  My friend took the drink, but because of the angle and the fact that my supporting arm was already straight, I literally could not push myself up.  I had to stay there a fair while until my friend composed myself and was able to help.
  2. Me and that same friend had an accidental tendancy to wear the same colour scheme on nights out, leading to our nickname of "Twinnie" for each other.
  3. Another friend has a black carpet in her room.  One night I managed to lose a shoe on the floor because we simply couldn't see it.  It must have taken a good 10 minutes to find...
  4. I think I put on a lot of my aforementioned weight by visiting "Man in the Middle"....a burger stand in the middle of Reading which did the best cheeseburgers.
  5. My Mum liked to call my highest pair of Kurt Geiger shoes my "hooker shoes".  Whilst stomping down Windsor streets I was telling my friends this, and how she warned me I would fall over in them.  My final words were "I don't think so" before I promptly fell over and slashed my knee open.
  6. My drunken party trick was always to rap Pitbull's bit in the Lovers & Friends remix.  In Spanish.  One night it was translated for me....I didn't realise I was saying such rude things.
  7. For some reason, if anyone ever asked my name I would always tell them it was Martina.
  8. I've asked my friend for this one....but apparently there was a night out in which we found £20 on the floor outside of the club.  We named the obligatory Facebook photo album "Free Money" in honor of this.
  9. Not so long ago, whilst sober, for some unknown reason I told a guy that my name was Gerald.  Gerald!!!  He misheard me and thought I said Cheryl, but I still couldn't compose myself.

  1. Love this series, it's so nice knowing things about the blogger and this is a really good idea. These 9 things are so funny haha! Love that you tell people your name is something different on a night out haha! I love making up stories and facts about my self on nights out and am always praying I never meet that person again xx

    1. My favourite thing to do is to ask people what they think I do/how old I am. My favourite, on the night I completed my law degree, was being told I looked like a 18 year old receptionist or....at a push....a hairdresser or beautician x

    1. At the time it was actually really painful, but even now when I hear the song that was playing at the time (Lloyd's Get It Shawty ;) ) it still makes me smile x

  4. Loved this post...I've also been guilty of telling people fake names when I've been out, partly cos everyone always mishears "Eleanor" anyway. Never Gerald though....

    1. I really don't know how it happened! Martina was my go-to name, so why I decided to change it to a man's I'll never know! x

  7. Haha, lol at number 9 - I get a lot of people mis-hearing Lily and thinking that I'm called Lizzie/Lucy/Libby a lot, even not on nights out... On nights out fake names (and fake phone numbers) are definitely a good idea sometimes! x

    1. Oh definitely! Once I hit 19, I don't think I ever told anyone my real name! x

  8. GERALD!? That's brilliant! I'm also impressed at your mad-drink-saving-skillz. On a night out at the start of uni, I was skipping down the street with a friend in FLATS and managed to trip, skid for about three metres on my knee, and end up with a rather impressive injury as a result. What's even more impressive is that I have absolutely no recollection of this event. xx
