Buy the Trend: minimalist jewellery

1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8

If 2013 was the year of the statement necklace, 2014 is the year that jewellery turns minimalist again.  Sleek, simple pieces are the way forward and for the money conscious among us, much more friendly on the bank balance than their chunky counterparts!

1.  Gold is my metal of choice, although this looks easily as chic in both silver and rose gold.
2.  Keep necklaces at collarbone length, or go long if you're layering up.
3. Coins are *the* thing to look for this season and they can be found in lots of variations on the high street.
4. The midi ring is still going down a storm; this is my ultimate inspiration! Minus the tattoos Mum, don't worry!

Simple doesn't mean boring.  A single necklace can make a plain outfit look sophisticated but don't forget you can layer up to give your minimal jewellery much more oomph.  River Island has lots of pieces at insanely cheap prices (£3 for a necklace!) and even though it's bit more than I'd like to spend on highstreet jewellery, I think that bangle from Mango will have to be mine soon!

  1. That bangle is gorgeous, my fav from your selection here! I agree minimalist isn't boring at all.

  2. Really love the bamboo bangles! So pretty & fairly cheap too :)

  3. I have just discovered your blog and absolutely love it!

  4. Hi Tabitha, love the blog; this is a great post! I'm actually looking for some volunteers to offer some opinions on this summer's jewellery trends - would you be available to take part? I have tried to email you a couple of times but the message keeps bouncing back. Do you have an alternative that I could contact you on?
Hope to hear from you soon! :)

    Many thanks,

    1. Hmmm you're not the first person who's had trouble emailing me, I'll need to look into what the problem is! Try instead :)
