Remember my favourite, old faithful MaxFactor Eye Brightening Tonal Black Volumising Mascara? You should do, not only is it a mouthful but I harp on about it enough! You can read my review here - it's my never fail mascara, but after years of repurchasing I got the itch to shop around and after hearing good reviews online, I settled for Barry M Lash Vegas Blackest Black with Fibres.
On its own, Lash Vegas Fibres was rubbish. Really hard to work with, gave me stumpy, spidery lashes and a whole lot of mess on my eyelid. I tried every trick in the book; wiping the excess off, tipping my head right back and looking in the mirror to apply....you name it, I just could not get this stuff to apply properly.
So that was that, and I went back to MaxFactor.
Then I got experimental and wondered what would happen if I used them both as a 2-step application. And with the MaxFactor used first to provide a fluttery, evenly-coated base (minus the mess everywhere else!) and Lash Vegas thickening up and adding a final oomph the results are perfect.
After many failed attempts to get a photo, you're just going to have to take my word for it. Let me paint you a picture....my eyelashes are fairly short and stubby. No-one's ever going to wish to have lashes like mine. But with this new formula I'm pleasantly surprised! It's still a fairly natural look, but an extra boost on what would otherwise be the best eyelashes I personally can achieve.
Have you tried either of these? I've heard that the original Lash Vegas could be better...can anyone verify this?!
God I hate the Barry M one! I never thought of pairing it with another mascara, will have to try that out. Then maybe it wont go to waste!

Oooh I'm intrigued by this combination! I haven't tried either of these but I'm definitely tempted by the Max Factor mascara, it sounds like just my kind of product :) Xx
