Week 1 In Moments

9.1.17

Rearranging our front room.  We ordered a couple of new prints, bought some frames and took the opportunity to revamp the living space once the Christmas tree was down.  Our twig lights are now sitting where the tree was, adding some much needed height to the otherwise empty space and I've brought the floor lamp down from upstairs.  It's amazing the difference these simple changes have made and we're loving the new cosy vibe it's created.

Creating a new night time routine.  I've finally given in and bought a bedside table and, again, the difference it's made is massive!  I've installed an unloved table lamp and can now read before bed without the overhead light on.  It also means there's a space for me to charge my phone and store essentials that isn't on the floor!

Wearing my new cosy knit.  Nick treated me to this wonderfully soft jumper from Zara.  Two words: oversized perfection.

Seeing Ella and Dylan's delight as they watched a man playing the keyboard and singing in Guildford.  They both danced, Dylan gave him a spontaneous round of applause and we even had to go back to see more after lunch!

Organising myself.  More on this in a future post!

    1. Sorry for the late reply, thank you Eline I did! I'm trying to keep in mind that I want to make as much of my time count as possible in 2017 and be more intentional in general. Hopefully these posts will be helpful to reflect and build on that!

  2. The images in this blog post are just beautiful - i love the colours and the light! A very cosy, January feel. :) Your new bedside-table set up sounds lovely too, I hope you enjoy being able to read in the evening. It's something I need to do more of, as I always enjoy falling asleep after reading a little of a book!

    1. Thanks Flora...sometimes I worry I get a bit too filter-heavy so good to know you think I've mastered it here!

I don't think there's any better feeling than falling asleep reading a book. For ages I've been putting on a YouTube video as background noise while I drift off, but reading's something I'm trying to do more often.
